Erica Salmon Byrne

Erica Salmon Byrne is Assistant General Counsel and Director, Consulting Services for Corpedia, a leading ethics, compliance and risk assessment consulting company located in Phoenix, Arizona. Ms. Salmon Byrne works closely with Corpedia’s varied clients in addressing their compliance needs, including rewriting and refreshing codes of conduct, evaluating compliance programs against the hallmarks laid out in the U.S. Federal Sentencing Guidelines and drafting training programs. She is also involved with the ongoing development of new Corpedia courseware. In addition, Ms. Salmon Byrne serves as a Director of the Ethisphere Council, an exclusive executive group of corporate leaders and practitioners committed to ethics and compliance in business.

Prior to joining Corpedia, Ms. Salmon Byrne was an associate with DLA Piper in Washington, DC. She practiced in the areas of internal investigations, enforcement actions, government audits and international law. Ms. Salmon Byrne has advocated on behalf of clients in front of the Securities and Exchange Commission, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York and the Northern District of Georgia, the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice and the House of Representatives’ Permanent Subcommittee’ for Oversight and Investigations. In addition, she assisted multinational companies in complying with the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and U.S. Export Controls.

Prior to practicing law, Ms. Salmon Byrne was an assistant to the Assistant General Counsel of a multinational company based in New England, where she conducted due diligence on acquisition targets and tracked the company’s compliance with internal policies and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.

Ms. Salmon Byrne received a Bachelor of Arts degree from George Washington University, a Master of Arts degree with Highest Distinction from Northeastern University and a Juris Doctor cum laude from the Georgetown University Law Center. Ms. Salmon Byrne is currently serving as adjunct faculty, teaching business ethics in the Department of Business Ethics and Legal Studies in the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver, a department ranked the top three in the world by the Wall Street Journal for teaching ethics.
